How to sow perennials

I my opinion many of the perennial seed germinating databases found on the net or in catalogs are more detailed than necessary. I present here a list based on my experiences over the last ten years.

Column A shows average time from sowing to germination for seeds that will germiante in ordinary room temperature, 18 - 20 degrees C.

Column B shows seeds that have been given cold treatment to germinate, and gives average time from when the seeds have been taken into the lightly heated greenhouse and till they germinate. They have then been at least 6 weeks, sometimes more, outside, usually under snow cover. It seems though, that the seeds don't need frost to germinate. It works fine if the temperature is lower than about +7 degrees C. Some of these seeds may also have germinated without cold treatment.
